I have and will offend and upset many with that statement. OOPS! Get over it. No one has the right to not be offended. It is part of what makes us all different and interesting. But that is a whole other blog. Which I will address at another time.
Addiction.....BAD. Addiction..... SAD. Addiction is in everyone. I make that statement knowing full well that anyone can become addicted to a chemical. Chemical dependency, be it alcohol, tobacco or drugs is the reality of the human race. Yes there are those who can have a few drinks and stop. But the fear is always there.
Some can have a cigarette, cigar or a pipe and walk away from it. God Bless them, but the reality is with the infusion of chemicals by the cigarette companies years ago, it was a trigger to addict you faster and harder. FACT. Drugs are even harder to turn away from and that is a fact. I know If I ever tried cocaine or meth or hash I would most likely become addicted. it is the nature of these chemicals to do just that. Hell even prescription drugs can be just as bad.
Screw it. All these things make us fell that what is going on around us is not so bad. They help us forget stress, pain, reality. It is the easy way from our problems. But IT IS A CHOICE we all make. I have had many friends and family over the years with some form of dependency. And all but a few have told me "I had to make the decision to be free from it. No matter what you , the doctors or any one does for me, I have to make that choice to alcohol, tobacco or Drug free. No one else can make me."
I have loved many of these people and care for them greatly. Lost family because of it. I will reiterate, it is NOT a disease. You have a choice. You can not decide, I will not get cancer, ebola, typhoid, AIDS, Polio etc... It is out there and you might be able to get a vaccine for some, but now a days do you trust them.
The other reason I say that, is the money trail. Once the Medical establishment decides something is a disease or a syndrome, I love that new angle, they start the money ball rolling. Establish organizations, support groups, Federal dollars, tax exemption and INSURANCE money as well. Once they area considered a disease, all personal responsibility is gone. Awe we need to help every one with "X" because it is not their fault. Bull shit. No one and I repeat NO ONE made you smoke, drink or take a drug, except from a doctor but don't get me started on that yet. YOU and you alone have that power to CHOOSE.
That is why I don't drink much. I know it would be way to easy to drink a lot more and a lot more often. Hell I always have a good time when I drink. That is a fact. I choose not to. Same with drugs. I limit the pain meds my Doctors have prescribed to me over the years. I don't want that monkey on my back. Again it is a choice. Once you get addicted is is brutal to remove yourself from that. I see it every day. It is a sad statement about our society. And I wish I could help every one who has an addiction, but they alone have to make that decision to cure themselves. Look at the money trail. Cancer?!?! If they ever really found a cure in this country there would be billions of dollars going somewhere else. So lets find everything we can and make it a disease and wow look at all the money now in the medical INDUSTRY. It is a business folks.
I have been called ignorant, stupid and blind for feeling that addiction is not a disease. I am not ignorant nor blind. I have done my research and see the money trail people. you do not have these issue in a lot of other countries. People are held responsible for their actions. Not in the good old USA any more. Everything is always some one Else's fault. look you shoot someone and they blame the gun company for making the gun. You have a car accident, driving way to fast. Drive off the road and hit a tree. You blame the state for having the tree close to the road. You put Freaking HOT ASS coffee between your legs and drive off spilling it, you blame McDonald's. Need I say more. Oh you get pregnant and blame the Government for not giving you FREE Birth control!!!!!!
CHOICE. Responsibility. Stop blaming everyone else for your one problems!
Peace Out!
